A practical guide for evaluating the intended workflow. SettleLift is in development.
Begin with the account relationship
A directory entry should identify the organization and its role in the specific account. Keep the original creditor separate from the currently recorded debt owner and the collector handling the conversation. Similar names or aliases should not silently merge different entities.
Capture the route to the right person
Useful fields include department, contact name, phone, extension, fax, email, business hours and time zone. Store a verification source and review date with the entry so the team can distinguish recently checked routing information from an old note.
Preserve changes
When an account moves, retain the previous assignment, effective dates and supporting reference. A later contact should not erase the reason earlier communication went to another organization. Keep the history visible beside the debt.
Separate a portal from a direct integration
An invited representative portal, an external provider API and a payment network have different setup and access requirements. A directory entry or verified phone number does not prove account authority, payment instructions or a live connection.
Keep collaboration specific
The intended collaboration view should share the chosen case and offer revision deliberately, without exposing unrelated clients, internal notes or unshared documents. Review membership, invitation expiry and revocation before using such a portal with real records.

SettleLift Connect demonstrates this relationship-first approach using synthetic examples. Its directory and collaboration concepts are in development; live creditor connections are not currently available. The feature page explains the scope and remaining work.
